Founded in 1935 at The 92nd Street Y, the Harkness Dance Center “has been a hub for a global community of dancers who gathered here to explore fundamental questions of identity, society and humanity through dance. Katherine Dunham, Pearl Primus, José Limón, Paul Taylor, Merce Cunningham, and Alvin Ailey are just a few of the legendary artists who created and premiered work on 92NY’s stage.”

To promote Harkness’ 90th season, I created a logo to be used on a variety of assets, both print and web. I also designed a 20 page brochure, which was mailed out to thousands of patrons in New York City and beyond. For the brochure, I wanted this year’s striking imagery to do the heavy lifting. To achieve this, I used a simple sans serif - Theindhardt Pan - laid out in a clean, modern way, with strong left alignment. The number 90 is used as an overlay, adding texture and even more visual interest.
